Hello Hi, to you Student Filmmakers out in the world.
Today is celebration day, because after over 6 months of failing and learning about Business Taxes and Employee Paperwork; I have managed to catch on and figure it out. One thing that was important for this process was an Income Statement, because that made my work easier on the Taxes.
I am a South African and Operate within the country for now, meaning that I do not know how Taxes work in other countries. But I have noticed that most Filmmakers and Art Professionals, always get into trouble with the Tax Man all over the world. To avoid that from happening, I had to think ahead and read up everything about taxes and managed to file.
After all that was done, I still had to get to know employee compensation and work terms. Because I am planning on employing a few people in my area from the beginning of 2022. I have realized that I need other creative minds in my space. One other important thing that I came across, was making the work space as creative and relaxing as possible; to encourage creativity and productivity.
I managed to sources funding for a lot of the equipment that I do not have now, to help me create more professional film productions. And I have started with plans for offices/studio space, for my teams to be able to work more on current online stream of content creation and filmmaking.
I am also busy with the fund raising and that is looking promising as well, meaning that from the coming year all my student filmmaking; will start working to better other people as well. Because if the recent developments in South Africa have taught me anything, it is that everyone is failing to hold themselves accountable for the country's economy and it is messing with the dream of a Rainbow Nation.
I will report more on this as time goes, but for now I am happy with all the developments that came with the challenges of 2020 and 2021. I hope to hear your level of creativity and what you are working on as well.
