SHOOTING SCRIPT
GEMINI
Scene 1
APARTMENT DOOR OF VALERIE SULLIVAN
FADE IN:
1. C.U. of a red apartment door numbered II in black, the sign of the Gemini. The sound of a woman’s giggle and keys rattling is heard as the door is unlocked and then pushed open.
Scene 2
VALERIE SULLIVAN’S BEDROOM
CUT TO:
1. M.S., WIDE ANGLE, CAMERA PANNING LEFT TO RIGHT over DORIAN Theodore and VALERIE Sullivan kissing and groping on Valerie’s bed. HEAVY METAL ROCK MUSIC begins blaring from next door.
2. C.U., DORIAN Theodore angered by the raging blasphemy from next door.
Scene 3
NEIGHBOR DOORWAY
CUT TO:
1. O.T.S., NEIGHBOR opens door to see a furious DORIAN Theodore in his priest attire glaring at him. DORIAN attempts to speak, but the door is slammed in his face.
Scene 4
HALLWAY
CUT TO:
1. C.U., DORIAN covering his ears, disgusted by the foul lyrics. Hear no evil
2. C.U., DORIAN covering his mouth. Speak no evil
3. EXTREME C.U., DORIAN’s bloodied hands covering his eyes. The sound of the Neighbor screaming in pain is slightly heard amidst the chaotic noise. See no evil
DORIAN
Let us pray.
Scene 3
CHURCH
CUT TO:
1. ESTABLISHING SHOT, OBLIQUE ANGLE of the back of church. DORIAN Theodore stands at the podium, leading people in THE LORD’S PRAYER.
ALL
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name…
2. M.S., EXTREME LOW ANGLE of DORIAN Theodore watching over the prayers.
ALL
Thy kingdom come; thy will be done
3. L.S., WIDE ANGLE, HIGH ANGLE of the rows of people praying, kneeling with their hands clasped together.
ALL
On earth as it is in heaven…
SCENE 4
VALERIE’S BATHROOM
CUT TO:
1. EXTREME C.U., VALERIE’S eyes shocked, a pregnancy test result of a positive blue “x”.
ALL
Give us this day our daily bread…
Scene 3
CHURCH
4. M.S., WIDE ANGLE, VALERIE sitting in a back row of church, saddened and ill, surrounded by the prayers.
ALL
And forgive us our trespasses…
5. C.U., CAMERA ROTATING SLOWLY FROM TOP DOWN above MR. ROBERTS, middle aged with a blonde moustache and balding, deep in prayer.
ALL
As we forgive those who trespass against us…
SCENE 5
MR. ROBERTS’ HOUSE, LIVING ROOM
CUT TO:
1. O.T.S., the computer screen displays graphic pornography with MR. ROBERTS watching late at night in the darkness of his living room.
ALL
And lead us not into temptation,
2. FULL SHOT of MR. ROBERTS about to open his pants just as DORIAN Theodore, who lurks in the shadow dressed in white, garots him with a wire.
ALL
But deliver us from evil.
SCENE 3
CHURCH
CUT TO:
6. C.U., MR. ROBERTS’ empty seat.
7. C.U., the face of DORIAN Theodore subdued and composed.
ALL
Amen.
8. C.U., OBLIQUE ANGLE of DORIAN making the sign of the cross.
DORIAN
Amen.
10. M.S., CAMERA PANNING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT as VALERIE Sullivan approaches DORIAN. She’s wearing a white dress with black polka dots and a black sweater tied around her shoulders. The tears in her eyes threaten to ruin her mascara, her face pale from morning sickness.
DORIAN
I told you not to come here.
VALERIE
I have a confession, Father; I’m pregnant.
12. C.U., DORIAN angered at VALERIE.
DORIAN
Women weren’t always allowed to speak in the church; most priests prefer not to hear anything from a whore.
13. O.T.S, VALERIE beginning to cry.
VALERIE
I’m pregnant with our child!
DORIAN
I took the oath of celibacy. Inside of you lies a bad seed.
14. C.U., VALERIE enraged by Dorian’s denial.
VALERIE
Your son might be a bastard but you’ll never be a saint.
15. EXTREME C.U., DORIAN narrowing his eyes
DORIAN
If its forgiveness you’re after, get religion.
Scene 6
APARTMENT DOOR OF VALERIE SULLIVAN
CUT TO:
1. M.S., DORIAN knocks on the door, tapping his fist against the Gemini sign.
DORIAN (V.O)
The Lord hates many things, such as a heart that devises wicked schemes…
2. VALERIE answers in her nightgown and opens up the door. DORIAN pushes on the door and makes his way into her place.
DORIAN
Feet that are quick to rush into evil…
3. M.S., DORIAN walks into VALERIE’S living room and begins pacing. She stands behind him watching inquisitively.
DORIAN
I am sorry for the harm and damage I have caused you.
DORIAN (V.O.)
A lying tongue…
4. C.U., DORIAN smiles, the distorted thoughts in his head become clear.
DORIAN
I love you Valerie, will you marry me?
5. M.S., VALERIE nods in approval, tremendously happy. DORIAN appears from the shadows behind her, ready to strike.
DORIAN (V.O.)
Haughty eyes…
6. L.S., PANNING LEFT TO RIGHT of DORIAN & brother DRAKE grabbing VALERIE who thrashes and screams in fear and panic.
DORIAN (V.O.)
…and anyone who stirs up dissension amongst his brothers.
Scene 7
CHURCH
1. L.S., SLOWLY ZOOMING IN on DORIAN marrying VALERIE and DRAKE.
DORIAN (V.O.)
God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost, bless, preserve, and keep you; the Lord mercifully with his favor look upon you, that ye may so live together in this life, that in the world to come ye may have life everlasting. Amen.
